The biggest news - Petrea is now in her own bed in her own room. I know, I know - we should have done it before now, but the bottom line is that she is now sleeping in the other room. Big step for Autumn and I - Petrea doesn't care. She just sleeps.
In other fun news, she got a pool from her godparents, Joe and Shirley. We are lucky that she seems to like the water! She spent some time Sunday in the pool just splashing and having a grand ole time. Rich stopped by to see some of the action, too. He still had a long drive to St. Louis, which wouldn't have been fun getting a wet hug from Petrea so we didn't get any pcitures of them together. But she did enjoy seeing him! Oh yeah - the mohawk in the last picture - rock on!
Last weekend, Great-Grandma and Nick came up to see Petrea and go out to eat lunch to see Beale Street. We had a great time - it was Petrea's first time on Beale Street and she got to see the ducks at the Peabody.
Also, a few weeks ago, we traveled to Stuttgart to see my godmother, Melody, get married. We got to see some of my family while we were there - Aunt Betty and Aunt Phyllis and Aunt Tinker. Of course, Pops is in there, too!
Hmmm, in other news. Petrea is eating real food now. Real food like, not out of the jar, real food. I know it isn't all that newsworthy, but I feel I should tell everyone. Here is the story: We walk in the evenings and on Thursday nights, Dino's has all you can eat spaghetti. It is our little neighborhood Italian spot. If you haven't been there, you should go. Not just for the spaghetti, either. They have a monster calzone and a great chef - Dino, go figure. So, we take a long walk and stop at Dino's on the way home. Autumn and I eat spaghetti and Petrea is only concerned with crackers. We have found this also translates into time well spent at home in the high chair...
Oh Yeah, Great-Grandma brought up some cardamom cookies, which Petrea LOVES! I think they keep her awake at night, though. We are doing some testing with that notion and will be able to offer some evidence on that theory later.
Petrea has a little yarn giraffe that she likes to play with. I named him "Billy Packer." I love that the George Mason students called him out after a game for publicly saying that GMU didn't belong in the tournament. The name stuck with with giraffe - so, we have Billy Packer as one of her favorite new toys. I don't really have any thoughts on Billy Packer and I don't think Autumn feels strongly one way or the other about him, either. It is just a name and it seemed to stick.
I have a slew of other great pictures...
Here Petrea is outside after the pool on Sunday. Giving the public what they want, I guess.
Here she shares the love with mom... This is such a great picture!
No pictures, please...
These two pictures were taken within seconds of each other. Do you know the one about the weather and women?
And, finally, a picture of the sweetest little girl I know, patiently waiting on someone to get her dressed to go to church...
